Living Chicago

Last summer has changed me in a way I couldn’t have imagined. I lived an intercultural experience that I’ll never forget. The people I met in EF Chicago filled a small but also huge piece of my heart and I learned much more than a language.

If you ask me if I would repeat I say: OF COURSE! And I’m certain I will.

Such thoughts make me miss Chicago a lot so I leave you with the second video:

Never think twice and go for it!

Sweet home

Hi bloggers! I’m in my country now and it’s more difficult to post cause everything has changed and my point of view is very different from here but I want to take profit of this situation.

First af all I’ve been uploading my Flickr, which you can find at the right column.

There you can find not only interesting new photos but also – in my opinion, you know – good explanations about the places I’ve been to, the people I met etc.

I’m only able to upload 300Mb a month (and a maximum of 200 photos)  so I have to prepare a very small selection (I don’t like it).

On the other hand I’m planning to open a new page (like the other one, “About“, where you can enter and read why I started this blog). There I will tell you important facts and all kind of useful things about Chicago (and EF also).
So check it out soon!

SPIN

I’ve already used the washer! My clothes smell delicious 🙂 (don’t worry, I’m not thinking about eating them)

In my opinion it’s not really cheap, you have to get a card and put $3 for washing and drying. But at least it works.

Monday’s class is a little bit boring. It’s a SPIN – like a specialised lesson, the rest of the week we’ve General English – called “Grammar in conversation 2”. It’s the only class where my teacher is not Joe.

I like the teacher but we spend the lesson repeating things.

One thing that we’ve learnt and I like is making a bucket list. Kicking the bucket means die so it’s a list of things you want to do before dying.

Here comes mine: (don’t laugh at it!)

– Crop my hair (just once, to feel the sensations)

– Parachute/skydiving

– Travel all continents

– Win a prize/award for photography

– Finish my degree in Biochemistry and find out something important due to my research (win an award too)

– Speak 7 languages

– Fall in love (DONE)

– Go volunteering (DONE, but I would repeat)

– Go to a NBA match

– Adopt a child

The thing that was nice today is that EF staff gave us some sweets to eat 😛

I’m happy because my new roommate loves cooking.

Ovo

Yesterday night we went to see le Cirque du Soleil at United Center. The organisation was poor and it was raining cats and dogs but the performance was AWESOME, as always. This time story was about insects. It had some funny parts and also scary ones; due to the difficulty of the acrobatics.
It wasn’t full so we were able to occupy some goods seats.

Alex, I missed you sooo much 😦

This afternoon’s class has been funny. We’ve gone to the park to play fresbee and talk about the film we saw yesterday at class. I’ll publish some photos as soon as possible.

After that some of us (teacher included) went to take ice-cream to Dunkin Donuts. I don’t recommend you the “pistacho&almond” flavour.

Oh girls, we’ve the Robert Norris University Football Team being moved to Fornelli ; )
