This week I’ve been too busy to post regularly because I’m leaving on Sunday and I didn’t want to miss anything about this great city, but I will finish to tell you all my experience as soon as I arrive home.
Bye bye Chicago!
Now I’m going to prepare some postcards I’ve to send to Spain and read a rolling paper from my classmates saying goodbye :$.
The experience doesn’t finish here!!
Classes hasn’t barely changed, which is in fact a good thing.
We have a new Spanish boy and the Vietnamese students are leaving this week.
These days I’ve been feeding my cultural interests and, since Chicago is known for its culture, I’ve visited a couple of museums in the city. They are: Art Institute of Chicago and Contemporary Art Museum.
The best thing is that I could enter for free. It is supposed to have free admission only for residents – and specific days, of course – but you know, begging a little or saying that you’re gonna leave helps.
In my opinion the Art Insitute is better than the second I’ve just mentioned because it is by far the largest one. Actually it reminds me of The British Museum. You can find art from cultures all around the world, from a Picasso to a Japanese kimono.
I haven’t finished yet. I don’t want to make you feel jealous but I’ve tickets for tonight baseball match WhiteSox vs. Yankees.
Let’s go Yank…sorry, let’s go WhiteSox!
I’ve already used the washer! My clothes smell delicious 🙂 (don’t worry, I’m not thinking about eating them)
In my opinion it’s not really cheap, you have to get a card and put $3 for washing and drying. But at least it works.
Monday’s class is a little bit boring. It’s a SPIN – like a specialised lesson, the rest of the week we’ve General English – called “Grammar in conversation 2”. It’s the only class where my teacher is not Joe.
I like the teacher but we spend the lesson repeating things.
One thing that we’ve learnt and I like is making a bucket list. Kicking the bucket means die so it’s a list of things you want to do before dying.
Here comes mine: (don’t laugh at it!)
– Crop my hair (just once, to feel the sensations)
– Travel all continents
– Win a prize/award for photography
– Finish my degree in Biochemistry and find out something important due to my research (win an award too)
– Speak 7 languages
– Fall in love (DONE)
– Go volunteering (DONE, but I would repeat)
– Go to a NBA match
– Adopt a child
The thing that was nice today is that EF staff gave us some sweets to eat 😛
I’m happy because my new roommate loves cooking.
