I’m a student from Spain who’s going to spend some weeks in Chicago improving my English level.
You may be wondering: why did I choose Chicago or EF?
First of all I thought that an English-spoken place would be the perfect choice for practicing my skills because not only your teachers are native but also you have to speak in this language to everybody, from your class or roommates through a shop assistant. After that I looked for information on the net and I found The Second City to be the best choice for me. It has beaches (at the lake), cultural interests, University environment and a well located school.
Finally the reason to decide experiencing EF is summarized in this sentence:
“EF Education First is the world’s largest private education company that specializes in language training, educational tours and cultural exchange.”
You can stay in a host family or in a residence/hostel.
If you’re an independent person I would recommend you the residence. You can practice English too and it’s only 5min walking from the school.
I started this blog because I entered EF Blogbook by casuality and I thought it would be interesting starting my own blog (it’s my first one!).
Thank you for visiting!
I’m certain Chicago will bring me all I need.

Hi!
Sorry for the delay.
I can’t help you with that question because I stayed in a residence 5 minutes away, not with a family. However, most my friends had to take public transport (like train) to go to the School, so the houses where a little bit far from downtown. Furthermore, they had to go back home early.
